Welcome to RKA Kids/Teens! We offer weekday classes across two levels at our Coconut Grove Clock Tower studio- Studio 1 is our lower level and Studio 2 is our upper level. Please click on the link to view class descriptions; including level, studio level & what fabulous teacher you will have!

– The fee listed in the links below is for the first 5-weeks of Term 1

– Each term is 10-weeks so fees are deducted in two instalments 

– There is an annual $10 registration fee

WEDNESDAY

TWINKLE TOES (3-5yrs) REGISTER HERE

Twinkle Toes Program is designed for tiny tots who are 3, 4 & 5 years. Dancers will learn the fresh movement derived from Ballet & Contemporary dance genres with Miss Kristy Love. Explore rhythm, co-ordination and gain confidence within a wholesome team environment. Experience a magical adventure through creative movement. It’s all about grasping the fundamentals of Dance whilst having fun along the way!

HIP HOP (Beg/Int)

Now’s your chance to begin your hip hop back up dancer career! No prior dance experience required, just a thirst to learn! Instructor Synta Routh is a self-taught freelance Dance artist who combines creative videography techniques with creative choreography. Learn the basics of Hip Hop dance and get ready to bust out some fresh new grooves. Don’t Wanna Miss Out!

SHOOTING STARS (6-8yrs)

Shooting Stars is catered for juniors 6, 7 & 8 years. Students learn inspiring contemporary choreography to prepare for performance with Miss Kristy Love. Dancers technique is extended and personal expression is expanded. Training is intertwined with exploration of the Elements of Dance and Dance Technique.

THURSDAY

TEEN COMP/CHOREOGRAPHY (Over 12Yrs)

This Competition class with Madeline Turnbull aims to perfect the technical and performance abilities of aspiring dance professionals Under 12 years. The focus of this extension program is to extend technique, develop composition skills for solo/duo/small groups and train as an ensemble for upcoming Dance competitions. Dancers need to also be enrolled in Saturday Dragonfly Creative Program.

SATURDAY

JELLYFISH 3-5Yrs

Designed for tiny tots who are 3, 4 & 5 years. Dancers are invited to explore rhythm, co-ordination and gain confidence within a wholesome team environment with Miss Love who is a fully qualified teacher. Experience a magical adventure through creative movement. It’s all about grasping the fundamentals of Dance whilst having fun along the way!

JUMPING JOEY 6-8Yrs

Catered for juniors 6, 7 & 8 years. The atmosphere created during this lesson is high energy and fun! Students learn inspiring contemporary & hip hop choreography to prepare for performance. Dancers technique is extended and personal expression is expanded. This training is intertwined with team building activities and honing creative exploration.

CROCS 9-11Yrs

Evolving dancers 9, 10 & 11 years. By this stage dancers have gained confidence in their abilities and begin to refine technique. Diverse styles with varying dynamics are introduced including Jazz, Funk, Musical Theatre, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Love for Dance naturally increases within the positive learning environment created. Students are introduced to dance composition and creative improvisation.

DRAGONFLY EARLY TEEN CREATIVE

This confidence booster class is for teens 12, 13 & 14 years. Urban & Contemporary Dance styles are blended with Drama & Singing. A carefree party like atmosphere is created and strong social & group bonds flourish. This class is also performance based. The journey begins with a style developing warm up, moving into technique in a fun and creative way, then finally learning fresh fun choreography to build up to an exciting performance. Students explore improvisational drama skills and singing technique is introduced to make each student a triple threat in today’s industry!

Our classes encourage personal growth & transformation to bring out the best in your child. Dancers will develop rhythm, coordination, fitness throughout our extensive programs but most importantly they will make new friends and build their confidence. We are all about inclusion and fun!
